Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian has dislocated his shoulder in defeat at Sunderland.
United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed Matteo Darmian suffered a dislocated shoulder during the 2-1 defeat to Sunderland.
The Italy international faces another spell on the sidelines during an injury-affected first campaign in England after being withdrawn in the 36th minute. Darmian received treatment on the problem and left the Stadium of Light with his arm in a sling.
"It is unbelievable," complained van Gaal. "It is a dislocation so he will be out for several weeks. We do not have many more full-backs, not even in the [youth] system. Donald Love has played today at right-back and he did it well."
Love replaced Darmian to make his senior United debut and performed solidly with fellow Academy graduate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson in the other full-back slot.
