Manchester United have added Bayer Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak to their defensive shopping lists.
The Daily Star says United ran the rule over the £12m-rated centre-back in Leverkusen's Champions League win over Zenit last week.
Liverpool and Tottenham also had scouts at the game keeping an eye on the Germany-born Turkey international.
Finding an experienced and dominant centre-back is one of United boss Louis Van Gaal's top priorities after the summer departures of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.
Toprak's current deal with Leverkusen runs until 2018.
