Man City striker Benjani ready to grab Sunderland chance

On-loan Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari is ready to take his chance at Sunderland.

With Kenwyne Jones out injured, Benjani knows his big chance has arrived to make an impression at Sunderland.

The Sunderland Echo says manager Steve Bruce will resist any temptation to recall Martyn Waghorn from his loan spell at Leicester City and will instead hand Benjani his opportunity to shine alongside top scorer Darren Bent.

benji isn't exactly the goal scorer we want him to be but he can put himself in good positions and can work hard for the team. dnt think he'l be lyk Bent or Jones

this is his chance. he's got to take it with both hands and make Bruce think hard about replacing him. Andy Ried did it and so did Fulop. Jones is a big handful on his day but not completely delivered in the goals scored area. he's only got 8. if Benjani can bag a few goals he may get ahead of JOnes.
Campbell won't get ahead of Jones but I like to see his pace and passion as an attacking midfielder.
