Man City skipper Dunne: New lads look the goods

Manchester City captain Richard Dunne is keen to see manager Mark Hughes make more new signings.

He told City's website: "The new lads came in and straight away did very well. The manager knows how good they are and they look like great additions to the squad."

Welsh international striker Craig Bellamy is a familiar opponent to the captain, who is pleased to now be on the same side as him.

"I have never had any problems with him, and he is the sort of player that opposing teams hate - a bit like Paul Dickov in a way!" he laughs. "He's a good one to have on your side, and he has a character and determination that hopeful can give us a bit of a lift. You can get a player that arrives and tells people what he thinks of them, so maybe we'll get reactions and progress as a team because we have a bit more fire in the side."

And of midfielder Nigel de Jong, captured from Hamburg SV, Dunne added: "He took to training straight away, he seemed very confident, speaks English and knows Vinnie as well, so he looks like a good signing."
