Manchester City coach Brian Kidd feels Gary Neville can be a success with the England setup.
Kidd helped bring through Neville at Manchester United.
Speaking at the launch of the 'I Put My Shirt On It' initiative in Manchester, Kidd said: "Gary has a fantastic temperament.
"He is a young boy who has worked so hard, both on his strengths and weaknesses.
"His brother Phil was technically very gifted. But, believe you me, Gary has worked his socks off to improve from when he was a young lad.
"He thinks about the game and you can see that in the way he has come over with his punditry and analysis on Sky."
