Mancini wants to know what Toure is planning to do and his answer could influence whether City will agree to the midfielder’s wish to open talks about a new contract.
The City boss admitted: “I have spoken with Yaya already, but it’s a very difficult situation.
“It’s a tough decision to make, because for any player it’s important to play in his national team.
“Now we have a month to talk about it but it’s not a simple decision. I hope he will stay here but I don’t know at this moment.
“I need to find out soon so that we can make plans.
“It’s understand his problem. Yaya for Ivory Coast is like (Alex) Ferguson for Manchester United.
“It’s difficult for him to leave his national team for the African Cup. I hope in the next 10 days we can talk about this. If there’s a chance he can stay here, that’s better for us.”
