Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has assured Bernardo Silva he has his full confidence.

The Portugal midfielder has struggled to make an impression since his summer arrival from AS Monaco, but Guardiola insists he's still counting on him.

He said: "When Bernardo played, he was at the top. Bernardo is a young player, he is an important member of the locker room, and we are extremely happy to have him here with us.

"I have never seen him sad, not once. He is always in a good mood and you cannot know how important it is. When he does not play a lot, you cannot imagine how important he is in the locker room, he is always in the mood."
