Sky Sports News understands that Manchester City and Aston Villa have reached agreement over the sale of James Milner to Eastlands. The 24-year-old has been tracked by City for most of the summer and it now appears as though Roberto Mancini will get his man.
Milner has been at Villa's training ground on Tuesday morning but will now travel to Manchester to undergo a medical with the City of Manchester Stadium outfit.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue for the ex-Newcastle and Leeds United midfielder, who is likely to put pen to paper on a multi-year contract.
The move is expected to see midfielder Stephen Ireland, who has spent his entire career with City, move to Villa Park as part of the deal.
