Manchester City are ahead of Arsenal in the race for Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic.

This week, the Montenegro international has talked up the prospect of joining the Gunners in the summer.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport says City are in pole position to land Jovetic, with manager Roberto Mancini and his staff having done a lot of legwork this season to clinch his signing.

Several of Mancini's assistants have close ties to the Viola and are confident they'll seal a deal for Jovetic ahead of Arsenal.
