Malcom was pleased to make his debut for Barcelona in defeat against AS Roma yesterday.

The former Bordeaux winger was handed a start by coach Ernesto Valverde.

He said at the final whistle: "It's preseason, we're preparing the team to play the (Super Cup) final against Sevilla, this is the way to go, especially the game of the first half.

"I hope to give Barcelona a lot of joy, match by match but we have to go little by little."

Malcom also spoke of his row with Roma defender Kostas Manolas.

"I do not get into provocations, what's important is what happens on the pitch, there's no need to respond."
