Milan Macala has left his role as head coach of the Bahrain national team.

The 67-year old Czech tactician and the Bahrain Football Association have ended the contract by mutual consent.

"The contract was ended in a mutual agreement between the two parties according to the decisions of the executive committee of the Football Association," said a Bahrain Football Association statement.

Macala almost led Bahrain to the 2010 World Cup but they were beaten 1-0 in a two-legged play-off against New Zealand.
