Liverpool have launched a bid for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, it has been revealed.

Terra reports Liverpool have launched a R$285m offer for the 25-year-old, which works out at £57m.

The proposal also comes with assurances from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who has told Alisson he would be the No 1 at Anfield.

Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet have been battling it out for a first-team role on Merseyside in recent months.

But the former's Liverpool career is up in the air after a nightmare performance in the Champions League final.

As for Alisson, Real Madrid are also interested in securing his signature.
