Liverpool legend Ray Houghton wants a big-name signing made.

Houghton has welcomed today's deal for Burnley striker Danny Ings.

But he told talkSPORT: "Danny Ings and James Milner are very good signings on a free. They have no wow factor though.

"Liverpool need to get the fans on the edge of their seats thinking, 'wow, we've got him coming in next season.'

"They need to bring in at least one major signing, that's really going to make everyone sit back and think Liverpool mean business this year."
