Leeds Utd deserved to beat Middlesbrough who produced save of the season - Evan

Leeds United manager Steve Evans claims that his side were unlucky not to claim all three points in their goalless draw against promotion chasing Middlesbrough on Monday.

Evans further claimed that Boro goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos produced the save of the season to stop Souleymane Doukara's second-half header from going into the net.

He said: "Boro have classy footballers and they're going to have little spells. They had 10 minutes in the first half and 10 in the second half, but that's 20 minutes out of 95 and for the other parts of the game, we're largely on top.

"The keeper produces the save of the season from Doukara's header. It's a remarkable save and it's a remarkable save in added time, too.

"They don't concede many and you can understand why, but people will look on television tonight and say things are happening at Leeds that are very positive. My players deserved to win tonight, but didn't.

"There might be one or two chances they'll be disappointed with, but we've restricted them and full credit especially to my offensive players tonight.

"We only got a point for our efforts but it's a wonderful performance compared to the last time we faced this team [Leeds lost 3-0 at Boro in September]."

Leeds now sit 16th on the Championship table while Aitor Karanka's Boro are second, a point behind leaders Hull City.
