Leeds United have been ordered to pay a remarkable £24.5 million to former player Jean-Kevin Augustin.
The Elland Road club have been found by a court to have breached Augustin's contract.
Per The Mail, Leeds have appealed the decision, which was delivered by FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber.
The Frenchman only played 48 minutes in his career for Leeds, signing on loan from RB Leipzig in January 2020.
Leeds added an obligation to buy him for £18 million if they were promoted to the Premier League, which they were.
Leeds claimed that Augustin's loan expired on June 30, while they got promotion on July 17 due to the UK government lockdowns and delays of that season.
FIFA have since repeatedly ruled that Leeds should have paid the money and signed Augustin.
They paid a £15.5m settlement to RB Leipzig and now may have to pay the full amount of Augustin's purported contract at Leeds had they completed that transfer at the time.
