LA Galaxy star David Beckham has eased the fears of fans by saying he has no interest in ending his contract to play for West Ham United.
Recent reports suggest that the 35-year old midfielder was set to return to his birth town of London to play with the Hammers in January and club co-owner David Sullivan even said that talks with his agent had opened.
But a spokesman for Beckham said that was not the case as he was looking forward to getting back on the pitch with the Galaxy.
"Whilst it's flattering to hear of interest there has been no contact with or offer from West Ham," the spokesman said.
"Davis is happy at the Los Angeles Galaxy and has no interest in leaving, and is looking forward to returning to the team on August 9."
Beckham is set to return from the achilles injury he sustained whilst on loan with Italian giants AC Milan which has kept him out since earlier this year, forcing him to miss the World Cup.
