Former Stoke City star Kevin Russell has returned to the club.

Russell has joined the Potters' academy coaching staff.

The position was already being advertised by Stoke when Russell left Peterborough where he was assistant to Darren Ferguson.

"Once we knew he was available and keen to join us," said Academy director David Wright, "we felt he would be a good appointment for us."
