Arsenal hero Martin Keown admits he was aware of their attempt to sign super Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Keown recalled in the Daily Mail: "When Zlatan Ibrahimovic came for talks at Arsenal, Dennis Bergkamp told me the big Swede was a centre half and had come to replace me. But Dennis was winding me up, telling me he'd seen him play lots of times. So it was funny that he was actually there as an option to replace Dennis!

"Of course, he didn't, with Ibrahimovic apparently telling the boss that he refused to have a trial.

"He's done OK for himself though and that was a brilliantly imaginative fourth goal against England."
