Keown: Arsenal wanted to CHARGE Henry for shirts he swapped so many!

Martin Keown has revealed former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry was so popular with the opposition that the club fancied charging him for the shirts he gave away!

Shirt-swapping has returned to the limelight this week following Mario Balotelli's half-time exchange of jerseys with Real Madrid's Pepe, which saw the Italian slammed by fans and professionals alike.

During Henry's time with Arsenal, the situation became so bad that the kit men threatened to make the striker pay for the all of the gear he handed out.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, Keown said: "With Thierry Henry so many asked for his shirt that the club threatened to start making him pay for ones he gave away! I can't imagine why somebody wouldn't want my shirt over Thierry's."
