Robbie Keane is expected to return to the West Ham United line-up for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Stoke City.
The Tottenham loanee has managed just two Hammers appearances since his arrival at Upton Park, missing the last four because of a calf injury.
But the Republic of Ireland captain should be right for the trip to Britannia Stadium although Hammers boss Avram Grant was remaining cautious.
"Robbie Keane is better than he was and we will see how he is after training," he said. "When he came into the team before, against Blackpool and Birmingham, we did well.
"Competition for places is good, but there is always a place for good players in the team."
