Julian Araujo presented as Barca Atletic player: I feel fantastic

Julian Araujo has been presented as a Barca Atletic player.

After agreeing a three-and-a-half-year deal, the former LA Galaxy fullbacl form part of the Barcelona Atletic team that is managed by Rafael Marquez.

Marquez clarified that he was not the one who requested the 21-year-old's arrival.

"It wasn't my request, but I'm delighted he's coming," Marquez declared.

"Julian was already being watched before I arrived. Then, because they were already following him, this situation came about and I'm delighted that he can stay with me for a while.

"Then he will move to the first team so that he can start to adapt and hopefully have a good career here."

Barcelona B currently have 34 points after 23 matches, with a record of nine wins, seven draws and seven defeats, with 26 goals scored and 27 conceded.

That means they're currently seventh in Group 2 of the Primera Federacion division, so the Mexican's team is in need of good results after three games without a win.

Araujo is expected to join the team during the week in order to make his debut in Spanish football as soon as possible.

"I feel fantastic, it's a dream come true," Araujo said in his introductory press conference.

"Three or four years ago I was at the Barcelona academy in Arizona and now I'm here signing with the best club in the world. It's spectacular and I'm very proud

"For me it's an honor to be the first player from that academy to arrive and I would like to be an example for the next generations."
