Jonas will "never forgive" Newcastle boss Pardew

Jonas Gutierrez has been quoted blasting Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew in the Argentine media.

Jonas claims he was told to find a new club after being diagnosed with cancer.

"I will always be grateful to the fans of the club and my team-mates for the support they gave me," Gutierrez told Ole.

"But anyway, halfway through December the manager Alan Pardew decided the best thing for me would be to look for a club.

"This was communicated to me just after I re-joined, 20 days after I was operated on and when the only I wanted was to train and to feel and get better.

"While I knew it would be tough to earn a place once more, I never moaned about not playing.

"For that reason I will never forgive him for what he did to me. That said, I want to keep on thinking that it was a purely a football issue and not for any other reason."

Pardew has talked up the prospect of Jonas returning to the club since getting the all-clear.

On being told Gutierrez had received the all-clear and was heading back to Tyneside, Pardew said a fortnight ago: "It's massive news for the squad because he is a much-loved figure here.

"We've had a response from his surgeon to say that in about a month's time, he can cope with professional training.

"So we are not rushing him in any shape or form, just letting Jonas have some time because it's such an illness that you need to have a lot of recovery time for that."
