Javier Aguirre has been named new coach of Leganes.

The Mexican steps in as a replacement for the sacked Mauricio Pellegrino. Interim coach Luis Cembranos returns to Leganes B.

Aguirre, 60, has signed to the end of the season.

And he will immediately get started, taking charge of a closed doors training session this afternoon at 4pm.

Aguirre returns to Spain after having trained Espanyol as his last experience in LaLiga. He has also coached Real Zaragoza, Atletico Madrid and Osasuna.
