Inverness chairman George Fraser is hopeful of appointing a new manager next week. Former Tottenham and Newcastle boss Ossie Ardiles has expressed his interest in the job, while former Caley Thistle manager John Robertson has declared himself open to offers.
Scotland assistant boss Terry Butcher and St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes have also been named as possible contenders to replace Craig Brewster.
Fraser told his club's official website: "We are delighted with the quality and number of applicants we're continuing to receive.
"This response is an extremely positive sign and indicates the perception in which the club is held.
"We need to take time to make the right decision and are in the process of forming a shortlist and confirming availability.
"We are working towards being in a position to make an appointment next week."
