Inter Milan midfielder McDonald Mariga is in the sights of Aston Villa.
Villa boss Gerard Houllier is keen to make Mariga the first Kenya international to play in the Premier League.
Mariga should already be a Premier League veteran, but saw a move to Manchester City collapse due to a failed UK work permit application.
Local media reports say Inter will be willing to listen to offers of around £4.5m for the player and sources in Italy have revealed that Villa are currently considering a bid.
