Hleb pleads for Hearts answer

Vyacheslav Hleb has pleaded with Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov to deal him in.

The Belarussian forward wants immediate discussions with Romanov to determine whether he can move to Tynecastle before the transfer window closes. Clubs in Germany are interested in signing him from MTZ Ripo but Romanov has thus far refused to announce his plans for the player.

"I believe I will score goals in Scotland," he told the Edinburgh Evening News. "I don't know what will happen, the people to ask are Vladimir Romanov and Anatoli Korobochka. I must speak with Romanov and get an answer. I want to speak with him to find out what my future will be."

A representative of the German-based sports marketing agency which represents Hleb said: "We think there will be a decision in the next ten days. Slava is still in Minsk and there have been no new developments so we are still waiting to hear."
