John Heitinga has made it clear that he is not looking to leave Everton.
The Dutch defender has been linked with a possible departure from Goodison Park as it appears that Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin are preferred in central defence by manager David Moyes.
But Heitinga is intent on remaining on Merseyside and forcing himself into the Toffees' starting line-up.
"I will fight for my position and stay at #Everton," he posted on Twitter when asked what his situation is.
Heitinga was voted Everton's Player of the Season by supporters last term but has been resigned to the bench in the early stages of the new campaign.
