Former Auxerre coach Guy Roux hopes Olympique Marseille can sign Abou Diaby.

The released Arsenal midfielder has been tabled a contract offer by West Bromwich Albion, but is also in talks with OM.

"It is the doctor who should decide whether or not Diaby arrives," said Roux.

"If he is really healed, it could be the best move by OM in a long time, and a great present for the Championship of France. Diaby is a fabulous player, disciplined and pleasant.

"He has talent, a rare thing, and that is sorely lacking today in French football."
