West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has likened Dimitri Payet to two of the club's greats.
Gold wrote for whufc.com: "I know a lot of the attention has surrounded the performance of Dimitri Payet and rightly so after he produced another outstanding display.
"We have had some great players over the years at West Ham United and I think back to the days of Alan Devonshire and Sir Trevor Brooking.
"You could see straight away back then that both players had something about them and you do pick out the quality players early on.
"Both of them had confidence on the ball and Payet seems to be the same. I know that Devonshire and Brooking proved it over a period of time, but if Dimitri continues to show this kind of form, he is going to be a very special player for the football Club."
