Girona coach Michel is delighted for the club as they sit top of the LaLiga table.

A 2-1 win at Villarreal last night sees Girona now leading the table after Barcelona's 2-2 draw with Real Mallorca the previous night.

Michel said, "It's very nice to see the table, to see yourself on top is to be very proud of this club and these players. People will sleep happy and I am very proud. We have done the best possible second half against an opponent of a very big club to which we have generated many opportunities.

"There are six victories in a row, it is not easy to do it in the Primera Division. The idea of how the team plays, how the players are, the feeling it has. You have to enjoy it and Saturday (against Real Madrid) will come.

"We can only enjoy it today. Against Madrid it will be a beautiful match against one of the best teams in the world and as leaders."

He added: "The leadership is wonderful, but it is seven games and there is a lot left. We have to continue growing and take steps forward as a team and as a club to enhance talent. We cannot stop at the fact that we were leaders on the seventh day. We have to continue working on our style and go to all fields with the same feeling."
