Genoa coach Alexander Blessin hailed their character for victory over Torino.
Genoa won 1-0 thanks to Manolo Portanova struck early before Leo Ostigad was sent off after just 24 minutes. But Genoa still managed to win.
Blessin later said:"We played with ten for an hour, we remained compact, we did a great job even if we didn't create so many opportunities. Nothing is more important than a victory.
"I'm proud of how the fans are with us, we have to believe in salvation.
"It's not the last game of the season, there are still many other challenges. It's just a victory, we still have to work. We must not think that we have achieved too much, today we celebrate but tomorrow we must go back to work. I found a receptive team, ready when I arrived and that's why it's working."
