Galliani scoffs at Real Madrid push for AC Milan's Beckham

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has dismissed the threat of Real Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez of trumping them for David Beckham next season.

"That seems really unlikely to me," smiled the Rossoneri general manager. "Beckham will play the second semester of this year in Los Angeles.

"An offer for January 2010 just isn't going to happen, I really wouldn't bet on it!"

It was claimed the Spanish club regrets releasing Beckham on a free transfer and would be interested in giving him another spell in La Liga.

This could well be another high-profile signing pledged by Presidential candidate Florentino Perez to tilt the vote in his favour.

"I don't know everything Perez does, but first of all he has to become the President," added Galliani.

"It all seems very strange to me. No, if I were a betting man, I wouldn't pick this scenario."
