Manchester City legend Francis Lee says Pep Guardiola's current team is the best he's EVER seen.

Lee wrote for the Daily Mail: "Next year is the 50th anniversary of Malcolm Allison and Joe Mercer's title-winning Manchester City team which featured Colin Bell and Mike Summerbee and me.

"This Pep Guardiola team, though, is the best level of football I have ever seen from City and it is only going to get better. When I was chairman at the club in the 1990s, we were nearly bankrupt.

"I always joke that we kept digging up the practice ground looking for an oil well! Look at us now - City are playing at an unbelievable level and it's mesmerising to watch. Our 1968 side were very good and we played open, attractive football but it was direct.

"With Pep, they are happier to go around the houses and the football is sublime. I'd love to have played under him - every player past or present would say the same. Fifteen goals in one week is stunning."
