Former USA U23 international Preston Zimmerman is set to trial with German Bundesliga club Mainz.
Soccer 365 says that the free agent will link up with the Rhineland outfit in a bid to win a contract to continue his career in Europe.
The 21-year old native of Washington begun his senior playing career with Hamburg II in 2007 before moving onto Austria's Kapfenberger SV in August 2008.
