Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino has slammed rumours they're keen to replace coach Sinisa Mihajlovic with Carlos Dunga.
Fiorentina have started the season poorly, winning just one of their opening six games in Serie A.
"I am incredulous," Corvino said. "I see certain reports that absolutely don't correspond to the truth.
"There is a desire to stir up trouble at Fiorentina.
"In the 30 years that I have been in football this is really the year when things have happened for which I can't find an explanation.
"If I were to have lunch with Dunga and hire him, would I do it in a fashionable local restaurant in front of everyone?
"All sorts of things are happening here. Every day a player gets an injury. And few are healthy. One returns with an injury from the national team. It's a difficult year. It's useless to hide it.
"It's the classic unlucky year. We should have expected it: for five years we have profited from the breakdowns of others, finishing ahead of stronger teams like Roma, Milan and Juventus.
"Now we only need to think about playing. On Sunday there is Sampdoria and that's the only thing that counts."
