Fernando backing Man City to deal with absence of De Bruyne

Manchester City midfielder Fernando believes that City have enough strength in depth to deal with the absence of Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgian midfielder has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks after tearing his ankle and knee ligaments in the League Cup semi-final win over Everton last week.

De Bruyne has been instrumental in almost every game he has played for City this season but Fernando believes there are enough quality players to cover his output.

Fernando told the club's official website: "Kevin is definitely a great player and so we will miss him.

"However we have other great players who can replace him even if he is a great player. We still think we will have a great team."
