Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has sent a support team to Italy to check on Kiko Macheda.
The Italian striker is playing on-loan at Sampdoria for the remainder of this season.
Il Secolo XIX says reserve team coach Warren Joyce and fitness assistant trainer Marcello Iaia were at Samp's Bogliasco training ground where they assessed the session on Wednesday.
Macheda has played eight games for the club, but he has struggled to find the net.
