Ferdinand says Sterling right to quit Liverpool for Man City

Manchester United hero Rio Ferdinand says Raheem Sterling was right to leave Liverpool for Manchester City.

Sterling has bagged an impressive 13 goals this term including several late winners in the Premier League.

Ferdinand insists the 23-year-old is starting to live up to his potential.

“I love this see this from Raheem Sterling," Ferdinand said.

“He showed great promise at Liverpool, again coming here the question was can he take on the information that Pep Guardiola was going to give him.

“We all know that Pep Guardiola is an educator, someone who wants to install confidence and different tactics within players, but can you take that on board?

“He's a young English player who we had huge faith in, hammered by the English press after the Euros and he's come back now to become an integral part of this City team.

“That's a credit to him as someone who's been a sponge and taken it all on board. He wants to learn and young kids need to take that on board.

“He was at Liverpool, went for £50m but still knows that he has to improve and has to work."
