Former AC Milan chief Marco Fassone admits they tried to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic before he left Manchester United for LA Galaxy.

The Swede is now in talks about a return to the Rossonero.

Fassone recalled to TMW: "We had also suggested getting Ibrahimovic, and spoke to Mino Raiola at the time, but then we opted against it.

“This could do with some stability, because too many changes in personnel both in the squad and on the bench creates instability.

"If they believe in these players, then they should keep going and earn their rewards over time."
