Wigan Athletic have failed in their bid to overturn the red card handed to defender Maynor Figueroa in Monday night's game at Newcastle United, reports Click Lancashire The FA's ruling means the Honduran full-back will miss Saturday's game against QPR at the DW Stadium.
Speaking about the ruling, boss Roberto Martinez said: "We are disappointed, clearly, because we felt we put forward an excellent case.
"But we will draw a line under the incident, and continue our preparations for Saturday."
