Former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has big ambitions for new club Nantes.
Ranieri admits Sergio Conceicao's work with Nantes last season convinced him about taking the job.
He said: "Was the club's good end of the season important in my choice to join FC Nantes? Yes, it was very important because the team played well, it was very compact, well organized.
"I am very curious to see what they can do with me. Going from 19th to 7th place is fantastic. Sergio Conceição has done a great job with the players. I want to continue in that direction.
"We're going to work hard. I hope the fans will be happy with us. The feedback is good but the most important is the training."
Ranieri added: "(Chairman) Mr Kita's enthusiasm has finally convinced me. He has a lot of confidence in me. I take full responsibility. When I'm not happy, I'll tell him but I think he's going to do everything he said."
