Roberto di Matteo is a shock candidate for the Liverpool job.
Sky Sport Italia reports the Reds are considering making an approach for Di Matteo.
The 45-year-old helped Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2012 and has since had a managerial spell at German side Schalke.
He resigned from the German club after failing to qualify for the Champions League following a run of just two wins in 10 games at the back end of the season.
