Ashley Cole was delighted with how AS Roma performed in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The Italian side managed to take a point from their tricky trip to the Etihad Stadium thanks to a superb goal from Francesco Totti who became the oldest player to score in the Champions League when he deftly chipped Joe Hart in the 23rd minute.
The goal gave Rudi Garcia's team a handy draw after Sergio Aguero's early penalty and the performance of the Giallorossi was not lost on former Chelsea left-back Cole who arrived in Rome this past summer.
"I think it was a good performance from the boys after going 1-0 down so early in the game and we showed a lot of character, determination and belief in the team," Cole told ITV.
"Maybe we should have won but the boys can be proud of themselves for going up against the (Premier League) champions, a great team.
"We're probably a bit disappointed we didn't win but it's a good point for us."
