New York Red Bulls went down 1-0 to Montreal Impact in a friendly at Saputo Stadium last night.
The next MLS expansion franchise attracted just over 12,500 to their home clash with the Red Bulls and fans would have enjoyed what they saw with a victory over a New York side which featured Thierry Henry, Rafael Marquez and Dwayne De Rosario.
Former Arsenal and Barcelona star Henry admitted that his team were a bit flat after not training since Sunday but conceded defeat to a very impressive Impact outfit.
"To have a good performance was very difficult," the former French International striker said. "We came here without a practice since our last game.
"The last time I touched a ball was in the last minute in L.A. That's not an excuse, but you have to prepare for a match. And Montreal played good. It was a super play on their goal. They're a good team."
Former Toronto FC striker Ali Gerba scored the game's only goal in the 37th minute with a glancing header to continue his brilliant scoring record for Montreal.
