Everton have joined the scramble for Empoli midfielder Riccardo Saponara.

Saponara, formerly of AC Milan, has rebuilt his career with Empoli and is attracting major interest this season from across Europe.

Juventus and Liverpool are tracking the midfielder, who is now rated at £14 million.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is also keen and had scouts watch Saponara against Juve on the weekend.

Local sources believe Saponara's future lies beyond Serie A given Empoli's valuation.
