Everton boss David Moyes hailed matchwinner Marouane Fellaini after victory over Manchester United.
Moyes praised Fellaini for his contribution - although he was not surprised - and felt not enough credit had been given to his side in the build-up to the game.
"Marouane played there (behind the striker) last year but he is a great midfield player as well," said the Scot.
"We can play him behind the striker or in the middle of the pitch and he can play defensively as well, we can use him in different ways.
"Not many people were talking about Everton before the game, it was all Manchester United and what they would do.
"I thought you (the media) had called it wrong because Everton are a tough team to beat at Goodison and we were starting the game near enough with the players we finished last season.
"Most people going into this game were near-enough writing us off and I thought that was a little bit strange."
