Former Sunderland defender Michael Gray is not at all pleased with the state of affairs at his old club.

Dick Advocaat was the latest managerial casualty at the Stadium of Light this past weekend and Gray believes even Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson couldn't have turned around the recent fortunes of the Black Cats.

Gray told talkSPORT: "I think even if you put Sir Alex Ferguson in charge of what we've got at the club right now, I don't see how there can be progression and that's where the problem lies."
