Angel di Maria admits Peter Crouch's dismissal helped Real Madrid thump Champions League opponents Tottenham.
Crouch saw red in the 4-0 reverse.
"It was not easy. At first it was difficult until the expulsion of Crouch. That simplified things and then we scored more goals and this gives us a good advantage," Di Maria said.
"We had a shock the other day and needed the support of the people. Thank God they responded and helped us a lot."
