Derby County boss Paul Jewell admits his January signings fell short of the mark.
"The new players have come into a team that is struggling and is low on confidence but they have got to show me more than they have since they have been here," said Jewell.
"I know that the players are better than what they have shown.
"When you come to a club that is on the floor it is difficult to show your best but I would have expected the players I brought to the club in January to show more than what they have shown."
Derby are without a win in 32 league matches and in the 14 games since the transfer window closed, they have lost 11 and taken three points from 42, conceding 38 goals.
Jewell is confident next season will be a different story.
"We need a new team to give the supporters something to cheer about," said Jewell.
"I have a great chairman, a great board who are going to back me and I am determined to get it right."
