Luuk de Jong took part in Barcelona training on Monday.

De Jong passed his medical examination in the morning and is Barcelona's fourth new face of the season - after Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay. Even though he is on loan from Sevilla and has a contract with them until 2023, Barcelona have the option to sign the Dutchman on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old arrived at the Camp Nou after completing 69 games for Sevilla over two seasons, in which he bagged 19 goals.

De Jong will wear the No.17 shirt with Barcelona, a number he has never worn previously in his career. The last two Blaugrana players to pull on the No.17 jersey were Francisco Trincao in the 2020/21 season, and Antoine Griezmann the campaign before.

De Jong adds to the Dutch contingent in the Barcelona dressing room with namesake Frenkie, and Memphis, with Luuk being presented to the media on Thursday at midday.
